Food Vendor Launch Kit · 2026 Edition

Arkansas

Every state permit, fee and form

One PDF for Arkansas: every state-level licence, fee and agency you need to start a food truck, trailer, cart or food stall at a farmers market — with a direct link to the official page behind every number, so you can confirm it yourself instead of taking our word for it. Local permits are set county by county, so the biggest counties are priced in full and every kit carries the directory to find the office that covers you.

Get the Arkansas kit — $39

The kit is $39, which is the cheapest line item in your launch. The expensive part was never a fee: it is applying for a permit in the wrong order and losing six weeks. Every figure was checked against an official Arkansas government source, and when Arkansas changes a rule you get the corrected kit at no extra cost.

This is a food business kit. If you sell crafts, art or other non-food goods, most of it will not apply to you.

Look inside

Two real pages from the Arkansas kit.

Not a mock-up and not a sample chapter. This is the page that carries the direct links, and the Arkansas at-a-glance page.

Why this exists

The information is public. It’s also scattered and often wrong.

Every figure in this kit was checked against an official Arkansas government source, and that source link sits beside the number. Two things it turned up:

Arkansas — mobile food permit

Arkansas is unusually cheap and unusually centralised — $35 a year and one state agency, against Georgia's 159 county boards of health or the per-county regimes elsewhere — but three things still sink applications. (1) The commissary.

Arkansas — business entity

Send the franchise tax to the right agency. Act 819 of 2019 transferred franchise tax collection and administration from the Secretary of State to the Department of Finance and Administration effective May 1, 2021, and DFA actually started collecting it on January 1, 2021 under a memorandum of understanding.

What’s covered

Arkansas food permits, completely — and nothing you’ll never use.

  • Entity filing. The fee, the recurring cost, and the direct filing link.
  • Mobile food permit. Arkansas Department of Health, Environmental Health Protection Branch — a single statewide agency, 4815 W — which office issues it, what it charges, and the application page.
  • Cottage food. Food Freedom Act, A.C.A. §§ 20-57-501 through 20-57-507 (created by Act 1040 of 2021, Senate Bill 248, approved April 29, 2021, effective July 28, 2021), which repealed and replaced the old Cottage Food Act — the cap, what registration it takes, and the statute itself.
  • Sales tax registration plus the commissary, market, and insurance question lists.
