Food Vendor Launch Kit · 2026 Edition

Florida

Every state permit, fee and form

One PDF for Florida: every state-level license, fee and agency you need to start a food truck, trailer, cart or food stall at a farmers market, with a direct link to the official page behind every number, so you can confirm it yourself instead of taking our word for it. Florida preempts local food truck permits to the state, so the kit explains what cities and counties can and cannot require.

Get the Florida kit: $39

The kit is $39, which is the cheapest line item in your launch. The expensive part was never a fee: it is applying for a permit in the wrong order and losing six weeks. Every figure was checked against an official Florida government source, and when Florida changes a rule you get the corrected kit at no extra cost.

This is a food business kit. If you sell crafts, art or other non-food goods, most of it will not apply to you.

Look inside

Two real pages from the Florida kit.

Not a mock-up and not a sample chapter. This is the page that carries the direct links, and the Florida at-a-glance page.

Why this exists

The information is public. It’s also scattered and often wrong.

Every figure in this kit was checked against an official Florida government source, and that source link sits beside the number. Two things it turned up:

Florida: mobile food permit

Budget $397 for year one, not $347: the $50 application fee is separate. Fixed-location food businesses are usually permitted by DBPR or FDACS.

Florida: business entity

Fictitious name (DBA) registration is a separate $50 if you trade under anything other than the LLC's legal name.

What’s covered

Florida food permits, completely, and nothing you’ll never use.

  • Entity filing. Florida Division of Corporations (Sunbiz): the fee, the recurring cost, and the direct filing link.
  • Mobile food permit. Florida DBPR, Division of Hotels and Restaurants: which office issues it, what it charges, and the application page.
  • Cottage food. Home Sweet Home Act (HB 663, 2021): Fla. Stat. 500.80: the cap, what registration it takes, and the statute itself.
  • Sales tax registration plus the commissary, market, and insurance question lists.
