Food Vendor Launch Kit · 2026 Edition

Colorado

Every state permit, fee and form

One PDF for Colorado: every state-level licence, fee and agency you need to start a food truck, trailer, cart or food stall at a farmers market — with a direct link to the official page behind every number, so you can confirm it yourself instead of taking our word for it. Local permits are set county by county, so the biggest counties are priced in full and every kit carries the directory to find the office that covers you.

Get the Colorado kit — $39

The kit is $39, which is the cheapest line item in your launch. The expensive part was never a fee: it is applying for a permit in the wrong order and losing six weeks. Every figure was checked against an official Colorado government source, and when Colorado changes a rule you get the corrected kit at no extra cost.

This is a food business kit. If you sell crafts, art or other non-food goods, most of it will not apply to you.

Look inside

Two real pages from the Colorado kit.

Not a mock-up and not a sample chapter. This is the page that carries the direct links, and the Colorado at-a-glance page.

Why this exists

The information is public. It’s also scattered and often wrong.

Every figure in this kit was checked against an official Colorado government source, and that source link sits beside the number. Two things it turned up:

Colorado — mobile food permit

The regime changed on 1 January 2026 and most material online still describes the old one. HB25-1295 created genuine statewide reciprocity: your state retail food licence is now valid inside Denver, and a Denver retail food licence is valid across the rest of the state — one licence, not one per county.

Colorado — business entity

The Periodic Report is $25, not $10. It jumped from $10 to $25 on 1 July 2024 and a large share of guides still quote $10 — budget $25/yr plus a $50 penalty if you blow the window. Colorado has no general state business licence, so the LLC is genuinely $50 once and $25 a year after.

What’s covered

Colorado food permits, completely — and nothing you’ll never use.

  • Entity filing. Colorado Secretary of State, Business Division — the fee, the recurring cost, and the direct filing link.
  • Mobile food permit. Which office issues it, what it charges, and the application page.
  • Cottage food. Colorado Cottage Foods Act, C.R.S. 25-4-1614 — the cap, what registration it takes, and the statute itself.
  • Sales tax registration plus the commissary, market, and insurance question lists.
