Food Vendor Launch Kit · 2026 Edition

New Jersey

Every state permit, fee and form

One PDF for New Jersey: every state-level license, fee and agency you need to start a food truck, trailer, cart or food stall at a farmers market, with a direct link to the official page behind every number, so you can confirm it yourself instead of taking our word for it. Local permits are set by each county or city, so the biggest local markets are priced and every kit tells you how to find the office that covers you.

Get the New Jersey kit: $39

The kit is $39, which is the cheapest line item in your launch. The expensive part was never a fee: it is applying for a permit in the wrong order and losing six weeks. Every figure was checked against an official New Jersey government source, and when New Jersey changes a rule you get the corrected kit at no extra cost.

This is a food business kit. If you sell crafts, art or other non-food goods, most of it will not apply to you.

Look inside

Two real pages from the New Jersey kit.

Not a mock-up and not a sample chapter. This is the page that carries the direct links, and the New Jersey at-a-glance page.

Why this exists

The information is public. It’s also scattered and often wrong.

Every figure in this kit was checked against an official New Jersey government source, and that source link sits beside the number. Two things it turned up:

New Jersey: mobile food permit

New Jersey licensing is municipal, not statewide: a license from one town does not travel. Workers' comp is mandatory in NJ from the moment anyone performs work for compensation.

New Jersey: business entity

The filing fee dropped to $100 on July 1, 2026 (P.L.2026, c.24). Unlike New York, New Jersey has no LLC publication requirement.

What’s covered

New Jersey food permits, completely, and nothing you’ll never use.

  • Entity filing. NJ Division of Revenue and Enterprise Services: the fee, the recurring cost, and the direct filing link.
  • Mobile food permit. Local health authority, usually MUNICIPAL in New Jersey, sometimes county or regional: which office issues it, what it charges, and the application page.
  • Cottage food. Cottage Food Operator Permit (N.J.A.C. 8:24-11): the cap, what registration it takes, and the statute itself.
  • Sales tax registration plus the commissary, market, and insurance question lists.
